I hope there is some help out there. I have a Wn2k Server with CF 5.0 installed, and I also have a Red Hat Linux box, (with CF 5.0 installed)
I am hosting a secure store application written in ColdFusion on the Linux Box, however, It needs to use a SQL2000 database on the Win Box. In the root directory of the CF install, here are two .ini files, one for the host and one for the client which has some cryptic settings for the connectivity. I have set them up according to the documentation, but where there is a big blank is how to set up the datasource in CF Administrator ( I imagine this has to be done on both servers, right.) According to the docs, these .ini files are supposed to actually make the Linux box use the CF engine on the Win Server, and if this is the case, I assumed I would set up the datasource on the CF Admin page on the Win box. Well, this didn't work, and there is somewhat a hole in the documentation and knowledgebase about how to complete the connection? As a side note, the Linux box has both MySQL and Postgres available, but the client insists on using the SQL2000 Database. Frankly I like the SQL2000 encryption and security better than the open source ones, Can anyone point me to the right path to complete this configuration? ====================================== For hosting solutions http://www.clickdoug.com ISP rated: http://www.forta.com/cf/isp/isp.cfm?isp_id=772 See the 4thof July page! http://www.clickdoug.com/old/4thofJul.html ====================================== My Idea of an agreeable person is a person who agrees with me! ------------------------------------------------------------------------------ To unsubscribe, send a message to [EMAIL PROTECTED] with 'unsubscribe' in the body or visit the list page at www.houseoffusion.com
