Aaarrrgghhh, I did run through the instructions exactly as they appear in the MSKB article but...
The final note says you must restart Terminal Services -OR- recreate the RDP listener before the new listening port becomes active. I did restart Terminal Services (I even rebooted the machine) and it didn't work.
