I would recomend a TSQL book like The Guru's Guide to Transact-SQL, it will
help your sql statements which will become more and more necessary as your
knowledge base grows. The Guru's Guide to SQL Server Stored Procedures, XML,
and HTML (both guru books are by Ken Henderson) would also be a decent
addition in that once you have your server up and running you can squeeze
some additional performance by tidying up your programing and including more
stored proc's.
The MS SQL 2000 Reference Library would be a nice thing to have, its a bit
pricey, but nice to have around from a Sys admin stand point.
Some of the MCSE training kits are a fair starting point for getting the
basics of SQL administration. MS Press has a few and Sharon Bjeletich has
one or two.
Microsoft SQL Server 2000 DBA Survival Guide isnt bad.
I would say that the Books online are very good as well.
