We've done it on most of our CF5 servers, and we haven't noticed any 
problems (knock on wood ;-) ). I have heard of a couple people having 
issues with it, but haven't experienced it personally. As long as you run 
the backup before you install the SP you should be covered. Just be sure 
you have plenty of hard drive space for the system backup, and plenty of 
time on your hands - depending on what kind of machine you're running it 
on, it can take anywhere from 20 minutes to an hour.
