If that's the most ridiculous thing you've heard, you need to get out more! Seriously, I can understand why they'd be reluctant to address this, as it could easily get quite complicated. The devil's in the details, they say. > Anyway, what are the options for shared hosting to run > CF 5.0 and CFmx6.1 . You can do this pretty easily, on a per-virtual-server basis, but if you've assigned the .cfm extension to the CF 5 ISAPI extension for the Global Web Site, you'll need to reassign it specifically to each virtual server that will continue using CF 5. Then, you can assign the CFMX ISAPI DLL to .cfm files for each virtual server that will use CFMX. You can easily do this using the Web Site Configuration tool that is in the CFMX 6.1 Start Menu folder. > I heard once that both 5.0 and cfmx could co-exist on > the same server as long as the page extension was cfm > or cfmx. Has anyone tried this? I haven't tried this. I imagine that it might work, but with some caveats. By default, CFMX uses an ISAPI filter, not an extension, and this will override any ISAPI extensions. If you configure CFMX to use an ISAPI extension instead, that may cause other problems.
