Ok, I've run into this problem before, but can not remember how I fixed it.

I've just rebuilt my development environment onto a new compter.  It is a windows XP box.  I downloaded and installed the latest CF 6.1 server, this installation set up the coldfusion built-in web-server since I did not yet have another installed.  I then installed IIS 5.1 from my windows XP CD.  I ran the webservices connecter program in the coldfusion directory.  All this worked well and I can run Cold fusion templates from either localhost (IIS) or localhost:8500 (CF).  But, the coldfusion webroot is acting as the default for coldfusion templates, but not for html..  If I enter an ULR such as (http://localhost/index.cfm  or http://localhost:80/index.cfm) into my browser, it first looks in the the coldfusion webroot (C:\CFusionMX\wwwroot), if a file with the specified name exists there it is used.  If a file does not exist in the coldfusion webroot then the IIS webroot (C:\Inetpub\wwwroot) is checked and the correct file is served up.

This is undesireable behavoir, I would rather only the webroot I specifiy by port be checked? If that is not desireable, I would at least like the IIS webroot to be the default root that is checked first.  How do I control this behavior?  I seem to vagly recall editing a XML file somewhere in coldfusion, but never really understanding what I was doing.

Any help would be appreciated.

Thank You.
