and much easier to deal with than postgreSQL. Its been around a long time.
We've been using it for years with no problems and no maintenance. Use the
Free Jaybird JDBC driver with Firebird or if you prefer DBC the easysoft.com
has the best ODBC driver. We've used this combination with cf5-mx with no
problems.

Yes, I do have plans to investigate PostGreSQL. Last time I checked,
MySQL did not support stored procedures which we use quite heavily.
However this may have changed.
