And as you pointed out, editing the xml document did not make a
difference.

Have you also checked that trusted cache is disabled. We had the same
problem when we updated to 6.1.

We found that the index page of another site was always being displayed
and *not* the index page of the one we wanted.

As a temporary fix we added a page to the list of default documents in
IIS index1.cfm and placed this first so it was always executed first -
this then relocated the user to the homepage of the correct application.
By the sounds of it, it should have resulted in an endless loop but for
some reason it worked.

If you have a spare box do the following:

Install the full version of 6.1 *not the updater*
Deploy the application on it and see it if you still have the same
problem. This is almost certainly an issue with updated versions of
CFXM. In the end we removed CFMX and reinstalled 6.1 with our original
license key on the same box and it was fine.

Hope that helps

Have you check your mapping in the CF Administrator.  Perhaps something
is
mapped back to the wrong directories.

No luck.  I deleted all the files in cfclasses and cfclasses_backup,
then
restarted.  No difference.
