I was wondering if anyone could help me figure this out. For a long time I
have had a problem where my server's memory usage on sql and jrun both
continue to ramp up until finally the server crashes. As a temp fix I run a
bat file at 3 am every day to restart the CF & SQL processes and thus wipe
the memory to start over. I thought this was some type of bug in my
shopping cart software or a memory leak in sql but I have now patched to sp4
on SQL and done all appropriate hotfixes for CF and the memory still ramps
up. The other day someone suggested that SQL was caching all the queries to
provide them faster in the future. I don't know if this is the case, but
even doing queries from sql's query builder causes the increases.

So my questions are:
1) Is there a way to limit the amount of memory used by mssql's cache? If
so, how? (OR if someone else has another explanation for the problem I'd
love to hear it)

2) Does Jrun.exe also cache CF information and is there a way to limit that
because it's ramping up too?

My server is not very high use so it's odd to me that every hit raises
memory usage and then during slow periods it doesn't reduce memory usage.
Any help would be greatly appreciated.

Thanks,

Oak
