Hi all, I asked this question on cf-talk and got no response ... yet. Maybe one of you can give me some ideas? Sorry for the double post, if any.
I am a little new to the java/cf integration stuff. This is all occuring on a Windows 2000 test server with CFMX 7 and IIS. I am rewriting a java cfx tag (thanks Aaron Johnson!) for indexing a database using Lucene. Everything works with the cfx tag. But I noticed that for longer indexing operations, the CPU usage goes up quite high. This usage is for the jrun.exe file (which I assume is what CF uses to run its CFMX service). I plan to have indexing operations run every 2 hours or so. While the production server is hammered a lot, I would still prefer that the CPU utilization not be so high periodically. Now is it better for me to run this indexing operation as a cfx tag (I really don't need any response after the tag has executed) or just call it as a cfexecute (java LuceneIndex blah blah blah) and hence as another thread/exe? Or are there any other suggestions or holes in my reasoning? Thanks, George ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~| Find out how CFTicket can increase your company's customer support efficiency by 100% http://www.houseoffusion.com/banners/view.cfm?bannerid=49 Message: http://www.houseoffusion.com/lists.cfm/link=i:10:5428 Archives: http://www.houseoffusion.com/cf_lists/threads.cfm/10 Subscription: http://www.houseoffusion.com/lists.cfm/link=s:10 Unsubscribe: http://www.houseoffusion.com/cf_lists/unsubscribe.cfm?user=89.70.10 Donations & Support: http://www.houseoffusion.com/tiny.cfm/54
