I would just use the serial from production on your dev box.  (assuming
you're talking about the server).  As far as using cf studio, that's pretty
old, and not a lot of people use it anymore (cf studio being the editor).
Take a look at CFEclipse, it should do what you want or download a trial of
dreamweaver (which comes with homesite+, which is the latest iteration of
cfstudio).
