Every time I run a template that hits an Oracle 8i datasource via ODBC, the
first query in the template takes about 350ms, even if I reload the page
several times in quick succession. I've also tried it with the "Maintain
Database Connections" checked and unchecked in the CF Admin with no effect.
I've even tried using several different queries as the first query on the
template, but again the first query always takes about 350ms even if I'm
only grabbing one record.
Does anyone know if this is something I'm going to have to live with or is
there some way I can reduce the time on the first query on a page? As a side
note, this app has to use CF Pro, so using the Oracle native driver isn't an
option.
Any suggestions would be greatly appreciated!
