I was having the same spooler problems as yourself and they seem to have
disappeared since I upgraded to whatever the latest release candidate is.
(knock on wood).
However, I've heard others on this list say 4.5.1 didn't fix their mail
issues.
I'd bet it's worth a try on a non-production box though. I think the only
other sure fix is to roll back to 4.0.1.
