help with MYSQL conversion

        <CFINPUT name="date">  
        this is MM/DD/YYYY

        we need to put this into a MYSQL statement that takes only
        YYYY/MM/DD

        we have
        INSERT INTO TABLE FIELD ('#FORM.DATE#')

        How do we reformat the string????
