hi,

we have recently started using rds with studio and have been getting some
very odd problems. i was wondering if anybody has experienced anything
similar and hopefully knows what the solution is. here's basically what
happens.

since november my co-worker has been using rds without any problems.
however, about a week or so ago i started using rds to connect to the same
server as well. we can both work for a few hours without any problems.
then, for no apparent reason when trying to open a remote file i'll get a
file off the server and it contains two question marks instead of the actual
contents of the file. after that me or my co-worker can no longer view
folder contents, open any other files, or save any files we already have
open. to resolve this we have to have the entire server, not just cold
fusion server.

at first we thought that it might be that we were both working on the same
network behind a firewall. however, when i work from home, it will
eventually do it there as well. like i said, neither of us can figure out
what it is that we're doing that could cause this.

the server is nt, cf server enterprise 4.0.1, sp5.

the machine that's been used since november without this problem is running
nt, sp5, cf studio 4.0.1.

the two machines that have been recently used that seem to be causing the
problems are running cf studio 4.0.1, one on win2k, the other on win98 first
edition.

this is the error that showed up in the rdsservice.log file before
restarting it this morning:

"Error","TID=167","04/12/00","10:13:45","xxx.xxx.xxx.xxx","cfssvradmin",""

for now we've moved all the stuff to a local development server, but it'd be
nice to resolve this issue for sites that aren't so easy to move.

thanks,

.jeff
