What would happen (here is where I should try it to find out) you were to 
automatically append a CFM to HTML document using the web browser.

IE in IIS there is an option to include a page footer on everypage. If that 
footer was a CFM template, would CF process the page? My guess is not.

This would probably be solved by making the Mime type of the page a Cold
Fusion page.
Unfortunately I do not know the mime type, nor have I been able to find it.
