Joel,
Definitely possible...
The best way I usually handle this is:
The page is a framed page where you have a hidden frame at the bottom, you
have a onBlur funtion that passes parameters to the hidden frame which
executes the query, which then passes the values back to your page via
javascript reference...you will want to use form control on your visible
page, or if you want to use DHTML you could do it without...
You could also utilize WDDX for the communications end of things, but for a
simplier transaction like this seems I would not, but that is totally up to
you...
HTH,
John

Subject: Dynamic query without page refresh - possible?
Everyone:
I'm wondering if the following is possible:
Say you have a text field box where you can enter a model number. What
I'm looking to do as soon as that text box looses focus, a query could be
run to find that part number and display a description and other things
WITHOUT the page needing to be refreshed or a form posted.
Is it possible? And if so, any pointers or references would be greatly
appreciated.
Thanks.
