<pre> is ugly as you have no font control... I used to use the replace()
version a lot as it allows "know nothing" people to just type what they
want - I now use the activeX editor that comes with IE - that ActiveEdit
uses.
If you want to see an example of M$ using it themselves, go to HotMail,
create a new message, and click on the "Rich Text Format" checkbox.
