I just received a call from a client who is helping out a client of theirs
(I feel like the top of the food chain... or maybe the bottom). The third
party is a car rental service, and they have an "online order page" that
simply generates an email request. They'd like to move one step backward
in the world and have that email generate a fax as well. (I hate to enable
people who won't check their email regularly, but as long as I don't have
to deal with it, I'll do the research.)
We've set up a process to do exactly this for one of our partner companies
-- an online form gets routed to both an email address and, through
cf_fax, to a fax server. However, we've had some problems with this
process, mostly due to the fact that we can't afford to monitor the fax
server to detect its numerous failures.
I'm hoping to recommend a service to them. I'm pretty sure I've seen
services like this, but I was hoping for some feedback from others:
Has anyone used a service like this? Preferrably not one of the
free-fax-number services, but a company dedicated to providing
high-quality email-to-fax service?
Are there any CF service providers out there who would offer something
like this as a customized service?
