I basically create my select option boxes within IF,ELSE logicals. For example, I have a logged user who only has view capabilities. In my IF,ELSE logical there are select options for view only. If this didn't help, another JavaScript resource is www.javascripts.com. They have some excellent scripts available and it is a CF driven site.
