I think the wisest thing I've ever heard about server security is this :
"The only secure server is one that is not plugged into a network and isn't
switched on"

Basically, no operating system is ever completely secure, unless its
switched off, even then someone could come in and steal it! ;o)

Someone, somewhere, who is determined enough will always manage to find
something that will allow them into a server.  You can only do so much to
ensure that a server is secure without turning it off.

I think that people that switch to Mac servers are going to feel just as
insecure as if they are running NT.  OS X is going to provide a lovely big
target and new challange to hackers around the world and I'll bet there are
some really nasty security holes that no one ever thought of or even
realised were there!

Ah well - just my 2penny's worth...

This has turned into quite a nice eclectic discussion from one spam!  Who
says spam is bad??  [joking] ;o)
