There are lots of things that, out of the box, CF can do that ASP can't. In
ASP, you generally have to get lots of components to connect to other HTTP
servers, or FTP servers, or send mail, et cetera.
The biggest thing that CF provides, however, is ease of use. It's much
easier to learn and use than ASP. This is pretty important, since labor
costs are the single biggest factor in web application development and
maintenance.
