I have to make a correction here, as I was in error:

My apologies to Crystaltech for mentioning them here...they are indeed a
decent hosting partner and I have only good things to say about them.
The problem has been solved and it was my own fault.

(And no, they're not asking me to say this).

Anyways, thanks to all who responded, the problem was a faulty DNS entry
at Register.com which for some reason made things work now and
then...and I didn't catch it with a tracert...these things can be
difficult to spot if you're not a webmaster expert!

Subject: CFMX connectivity problems (not DB-related)

Hi folks

I am working on moving my CF5 site from a dedicated server to a shared
CFMX hosting environment.

The problems seems to have no end...but they seem NOT to be related to
the code. Instead, the ISP now tells me that they have warned all their
customers not to choose the CFMX platform as it is known to be unstable
and have serious connectivity problems (page not found, browser hangups
etc).

It seems to me that this would have been a known issue if it were true.

Anyone else heard about this? Are they right? Or is this due to
ignorance on their behalf?

The host in qustion is http://www.crystaltech.com/ - I've only had good
references to them from others but as for myself I'm having severe
problems with two CFMX plans I've bought recently.

With kind regards,
