I can shed a bit of light ... The whole concept of building a flashmx site is vastly different from a conventional site using only cfm templates.
First of all, you don't have to worry about sessions because the client will not be clicking from page-to-page. Instead, the client moves from frame-to-frame inside the one flash movie. This can be accomplished by placing a button on the movie that has a 'nextFrame()' action attached to it. I can email a very simple example app to you if you wish.
