My favorite when I know I'm working with a limited set of users (preferably just me!) and the data I am trying to retrieve is from a CF site that I control, is to use VBA and XMLHTTP which is part of the MSXML parser. It can request a URL and put the XML that is sent back right into a XML DOM object. I'm still working on XL2000, so I haven't had a chance to try out the ability in 2002 to consume web services.

Along these same lines, is there some way to have an excel spreadsheet on a remote users desktop, periodically request and import data from a remote web/db server? Would this be an appropriate job for a web service which spits out XML data? At 12:34 PM 26/08/02 -0700, you wrote: >Definitely possible!
