My hosting provider did the very same thing for me to test my code on a
ColdFusion 5.0 box and when I was ready they made the dns change to the
new server. <cf_plug>www.cfdynamics.com

Subject: Hosting upgrade procedures Was Re: Cold Fusion MX 6 upgrade
Help

Did your hosting service upgrade your production service? Did they warn
you before they upgraded? Did they give you a test environment where
you could try out your apps before they upgraded you?

If not, they should be tireless with your questions. This would be
unacceptable in any case where you are paying for hosting services.

Is this happening to people?

The hosting service I use (Intermedia.net non dedicated service) was the
best when they upgraded me to CF5. They gave me a full duplicate setup
with access via IP number where I could test out all my apps and then
waited for me to give them the "go" to switch over. </host plug>

Are people being switched directly from one version to the next by their
hosting services?
