I agree that the patches should be available for separate download; some MM
folks here said that they would be.

However, for this first update, the file is 14 Mb, and I think it contains
all of the first round of fixes, as well as the updating software itself. I
didn't think about it at the time when I installed it on my laptop, but I
don't think it triggered any network access.
