We have a standard application that was made for SQL-server 7 and which we
recently made available for Oracle as well.
We ran into a few problems, but most were due to ODBC-driver-problems (The
customer was running CF 4.5.1 Pro, so native drivers was out of the
question)
>From my mind:
We had to change the insert-queries because Oracle doesn't make unique ID's
automatically, and there is also an issue on "ORDER BY" when doing UNION
selects.
Otherwise everything worked quite nicely.
I am perfectly pleased with SQL-server though, and as the administration of
SQL-server is easier than with Oracle I prefer development using SQL-server.
A lot of the stuff i could do easily and understandably using Enterprise
Manager in SQL Server, i have to call in the Oracle-guru to do now...
The SQL-server has performed very good as well and we see no reason to
transfer to Oracle.
