I have interfaced FileMaker to CFMX & done a limited amount of testing.
I think you want to avoid using filemaker as an online db (similar reasons to those for avoiding MS-Access). What you could do is use CFMX to convert the FileMaker data into some other online RDBMS (free or proprietary) It will take me a while to dig up the info on how to do this -- I will post later.
