Well, in theory you can telnet direct to a mail server and use your account
details to log in, then you give the mail server commands to display your
email.   Its a total pain to do, but vaguely remember many years ago messing
on with a mail server like that.  Its very sad and geeky to do that kind of
thing though!  True propeller head type thing that! :o)

We have some Cobalt RAQs these days, so I'm back to using putty to get a
secure telnet connection to the server and mess on on the box, but until
recently, I'd almost forgotten telnet and unix....

Hmmm... I seem to "mess on" a lot....  Note to self : stop messing and get
on with some work. ;o)
