I'd imagine they avoided making file paths case insensitive because *nix
allows you to have 2 or more separate files or directories named
Application, APPLICATION and AppliCATioN. I've never really understood why
this is considered a feature. In any event, the application server wouldn't
have any way of knowing which file or directory to use -- whether this
naming scheme is good practice or not.
