I think we're forgetting that the originator of the thread needs an urgent solution or workaround for features not yet supported by any of the alternative methods mentioned so far in the thread. His only real solution at the moment is to have COM support back, as I suspect this is an established production system which has had a server updgrade to CFMX.
Eric, I've been doing further investigations as mentioned in my offlist mail to you and the only thing I can recommend right now is to go back to CF5 if this is an established application in production environment. This is a temporary fix until a suitable alternative can be found to work with CFMX.
