So you are not using the Sun JRE?  Have you experienced JDBC issues with the
IBM 1.3 JRE?  Does it exhibit the locale specific formatting issues?  So you
are recommending the IBM JRE?

I believe the issue is that the IBM 1.3 JRE is probably the best fast
JRE right now that is available cross platform. They haven't released
a 1.4 JRE for Windows yet, only Linux...
