The following test script I was working on intermittently causes a complete
server failure....at least from a networking perspective. Unfortunately I do
not have physical access to the machine at the moment. (support tech on site
performing cold restarts for me).
It seems *sometimes* the script I'm including disables my server. I'm
running Win2k Server with SP2 and MSSQL2k. CFMX updater has also been
applied. The machine in question (including cfmx) has been running
flawlessly for months and there has been no environment changes.
I have not yet been able to duplicate the symptoms upon removing the
CFFLUSH...which doesn't mean all that much but perhaps it's a starting
point.
The code sample itself may not be stellar but I wouldn't expect it to bring
the machine to it's knees.

I've got a little script that connects to a FTP server, grabs a directory
listing...then loops through that list and compares each subfolder name with
a search param. Nothing too complicated.
What's strange is that as soon as I execute it my box dies...at least all
network connections come down. (mapped drives, web sites etc..)
It happens when it reaches the point of looping over the query of the parent
directory...and each loop has an instance of cfftp to grab the listing of
the subfolder. Will verify again and post a code sample once I confirm I'm
not crazy...
