Hi Nathan, I use all the stuff you're talking about on a win2k platform, both on CFMX and CF 4.5.
In CFMX you have to ignore ODBC and use the drivers that come with MX. Don't try and do an ODBC connection. The procedure you're describing sounds like the procedure for 4.5x, where you create the db, then make an odbc connection via the Windows cpanel applet, then the odbc connection magically is visible in CF Administrator.
