Consider f-prot (http://f-prot.com).  Its memory sig is 3-5 mb total.  Very 
unobtrusive, no noticeable slowdown that I've ever seen, but then again all I did was 
eyeball things.  Nothing scientific.

Also have it hooked into my IMail server via Declude to scan my email traffic.  100% 
success rate after maybe 6-9 months.

costs US$40 for an annual 20-system license.  1 web server=1 system... no ifs, ands or 
buts.
