Good to hear...I really don't want to have to deal with some of the
stuff I hear batted around on this list! Yikes!

I've been able to install CF MX and the first Updater on Win2K Server with
no difficulty. It was no more difficult for me than was CF 5. I seem to
continually run into syntactical and behavioral differences between CF 5 and
CF MX, most of which are not considered to be bugs and therefore are by
definition my problem. But then I tend to "push the envelope" a lot.

I know the theory and the syntax behind Java. I've read the books. To date
there's been no demand for me to work with Java professionally, and I
wouldn't say that my knowledge of Java either detracts from or adds to my
ability to work with CFMX.

I did have to modify an xml file to get the CF MX internal webserver to
acknowledge "default.cfm" as a default document, which was different than
the GUI for IIS, but that's the only non-CF programming tweak I've had to
make to the install. When I first got started doing CF at MCI ( yea, the
telephone company that's in trouble recently for fraud ), 5 years ago they
used default.cfm as their first default document and it's just always felt
more logical to me than "index" ( which to me has always said "topographical
reference at the end of a book" )... So I use index.cfm now for new projects
just to keep from confusing other developers, or when I'm working on
something in Fusebox, but my older stuff still uses default.cfm.
