I am no NFS guru, but you might want to check and see what kind of locking
you are using in NFS.

You may also want to try SAMBA. It may seem backasswards to try this, but
setup SAMBA on you image server, with the shares defined that you want.
Then SMBMOUNT the share on your web servers. Just something to try.

This sounds more like something to call Allaire tech support about though.

If you have the development machines to spare to try it out, use RedHat and
see if that makes a difference. RedHat patches the crap out of their
kernels and has a more advanced NFS system (it would seem).

Good luck,

Subject: FW: NFS Plea for help

The problem is as follows:
        We are running ColdFusion on Slackware Linux and everything works
fine, except for one critical issue. We have two web server that are
supposed to write uploaded image files to a central image server, using an
NFS mounted drive. We've been trying everything we can think of, but when we
use cffile, it just fails. There is a thread on the Allaire forums regarding
the issue, but no solution. (The thread is at:
http://forums1.allaire.com/devconf/Thread.cfm?CFID=344082&CFTOKEN=89858057&&;
Thread_ID=156998&mc=7).

All we want to do is to upload files to an NFS mounted server, but
ColdFusion seems unable to so this. Does any one have any suggestions or
solutions? Does any one know if there is a patch available?
