Yes, thats what I'm getting at. Sort of. :) To some degree less handholding would be more. I really don't like compiled stuff that black-boxes this or that operation so I can't get to its inner workings if there's a problem. CFGRIDUPDATE would be a great example of what I mean. OK to make a cf_gridupdate thats open source, but don't lock me out of the code so I can't fix it when it doesn't work with my db or something.
I would definitely replace CFGrid et al with Flash components... assuming of course they would become *less* buggy :). I would also give serious consideration to an uncompiled/unencrypted solution so I could take the knowledge gained using Built-In Tool X and apply it to other CF/Flash collaborations. ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~| Archives: http://www.houseoffusion.com/cf_lists/index.cfm?forumid=4 Subscription: http://www.houseoffusion.com/cf_lists/index.cfm?method=subscribe&forumid=4 FAQ: http://www.thenetprofits.co.uk/coldfusion/faq Get the mailserver that powers this list at http://www.coolfusion.com
