First, remove any oddball stuff in:

  /Library/Java/Extensions

that you put there for the port

Then make sure that the JMC is running and the JRun Server you are  
trying to connect is running

If that fails, reinstall JRun


You are running Jaguar, aren't you?

I didn't try this with the 1.4.1 Preview -- so, if you are running that  
it could cause a problem.
