It will on create the folder in the web root or a web application root.

does it automatically create the folder if your sites are NOT under the
wwwroot folder?

Yea, I figured that out after I sent the last message. I got a free minute
and I took a look to see what other instances of the directory might exist
and realized that it was creating them in the root directory for each site
in IIS.

I'm still not happy with the assumption that because I use IIS (even though
ASP is not installed) that all of my websites _must_ be asp.net sites. And
it's not even because I didn't have to go through an obvious license
agreement or because I have to uninstall the .NET framework to get rid of
them.

This sort of faulty (or perhaps intentional) reasoning on their part makes
it that much easier for me to imagine the day when they assume that because
I own a computer I _must_ want their latest new thing and that it's okay for
them to debit my bank account for it. (Which is why I say it'll be a cold
day in hell when I use MS Wallet -- or Yahoo Wallet -- I don't even use
PayPall).

In any event, no offense taken... I'm just going through a momentary
frustration. Happens all the time. :)
