UDF always returning "YES" no "NO" when I call it in a cfoutput

Is there a way to get rid of the "YES" no "NO" from a UDF

I have a UDF

function someFunction(param)
{
}

when I call someFuntion like this:

<cfoutput>
    #someFunction(param)#
</cfoutput>

the output is as follow:

someFunction result
and the word "YES" or "NO" following the result
