In addition to the other bad stuff already mentioned, these tags black-box the sql, so that any problems that crop up - and they will :) - become all the more difficult to debug. Plus they have compatibility issues with mySQL. Not sure if that matters to you, but it sure did to me when I ran into them a year or wo ago.
