Hi Rick,

I learned of Serv-U back when I was on shared hosts.  All of my ISPs used
it, so I bought it when I got into my own servers.  Another invaluable
feature to add to the pile already discussed:  Its a snap to give a user
access to different directories which aren't necessaily grouped together.

Spend an hour with IIS and Serv-U each... you'll answer your own question :D
