Bud, Since you're using MX, have you used the "charset" attribute of the CFHTTP tag and set it to "ISO-8859-1"? You may need to watch that "ISO-8859-1" for case-sensitivity, as you're passing it in to Java, which is case-sensitive. If you don't set it, the default is "UTF-8", which is where you might be running into trouble.
