I think you're correct about that, but do you really need to create new collections that often? You may be able to just create one collection, then index everything into that. Even if you use K2, though, you'll still have to figure out some issues with your cluster. For example, you have to use Verity VDK instead of K2 to use the CFINDEX and CFCOLLECTION tags.
