Hi Michael, Ken, Jim, Jennifer, et al,

Thank you ALL very very very..... much for all your help. I'll not make =
this brief in hopes that my efforts will help others not to make the =
same mistakes.

I first tried CFTable but because of the lack of functions for =
date/number and font size control I tried CFGrid. The default font for =
CFGrid is quite adequate. Smaller than "normal" font both horizontally =
and vertically. But I couldn't get NumberFormat to work with CFGrid and =
I can't use Michael's suggestion for checking for date GT 1901 because I =
can't insert a CFIF tag in CFTable or CFGrid.=20

I reconfigured my datasource by converting the date fields to text and =
the number fields to text with commas. This was easy using the VFP CTOD =
and the Translate functions in the SELECT. Only the numbers worked with =
CFTable, neither worked with CFGrid. CFGrid displayed the text date =
fields as 1899-12-30 and the numbers without commas even though they are =
part of the data.

You can imagine my frustration at this point. Although this is my first =
major CF app, I've been attending the CFUG-MD for years, since it =
started. I believed that it was the best. I have both Forta's books plus =
one by Sybex. I convinced my personal clients to go with CF. I've also =
attended the FoxPro sigs here for years. I've convinced my friends there =
to consider CF instead of Web Conection or FoxWeb. THEY ARE GOING TO =
HANG ME.=20

Where did I wind up? With you help and encouragement I'm using TABLE =
successfully. Using the attributes Align, Font Size, Width, etc. and =
DateFormat and NumberFormat. Using the original datasource (unconverted) =
and Michaels suggestion for checking for GT 1901 and otherwise =
displaying a variable of ' / / '.

The table fits the page horizontally but I may want to change to a font =
style that is smaller in height so I can fit more rows comfortably. That =
was one of the advantages of CFGrid. I tried TR Height=3D??. 100 works =
but 2 doesn't. That is I can increase the row height but not reduce it.

So I'm back to where I started out weeks ago; trying to displaying the =
policy data in a table. Successfully now - thanks to you all, albiet =
Table instead of CFTable. And I expect to deliver the app Monday. Thanks =
again for your concern and suggestions. Have a nice weekend. I'm going =
to get a tall drink.

Regards,

Paige
