Hi everyone, We have a client that would like to add a more intelligent search to their e-commerce site. Currently, we use the bundled Verity K2 server along with some ColdFusion code to format and present the search results - but the search is limited to basically searching the full text of the product descriptions, with a little CF code to handle things like SKU numbers and a few "flagged" products. We've considered adding some intelligence to the engine using ColdFusion (for example, using multiple collections to search different attributes of the products and the rank accordingly) but CF doesn't seem to be the right tool for the job, even if we use "zones" and such with the bundled verity server. Our client would like to be able to do things like group results on common categories, account for typos, and handle synonyms, and rank results according to a customized metric. (there is quite a bit to it, but I'm just looking for suggestions at this point) I've been researching some of Verity's other products; has anyone here integrated any of their more advanced search products with a CF based e-commerce system? Any other products out there that are good at indexing and searching product data? Thanks for any suggestions. -Matt Matthew I.
