Hi list,
this is off-topic !

I have a problem trying
to upgrade to SP3 on Win2k Server.

I did this two days ago.
Windows resist this with the
following message:
"Bei der Systemaktualisierung ist ein Fehler aufgetreten"
(in english s.th. like: "While trying to update the system
an error occurred"). Very much information, isn't it ? :-)

I thought the first moment it has s.th.
to do with the MS-installer. We have an older
version 1.1. I wanted to upgrade this and downloaded
the software and tried to install it.
Another error occured saying the installer couldn't be
updated. :-(
o.k.
I tried to deinstall all hotfixes and reinstall the
SP2 to install later the SP3 service pack.
This didn't work because the system said:

"Die Software enthlt keine digitale Signatur"
s.th. like: "The software contains no digital signature"

So I guess it has s.th. to do with the signature/certificate
which doesn't work properly.

I tried the windows update function under Windows directly:

I followed a Knowledge Base Article on this: 319585
http://support.microsoft.com/default.aspx?scid=kb;en-us;319585
Error Mesage : "Software Update Incomplete, This Windows Update
Software did not update Successfully"

worked out what was mentioned but with no success.

Anyone having another idea ?

Uwe
