For some reason you do not need to call the create() method. This code seems to make
fine for a stateless session bean.

cfobject
        action ="create"
        type ="java"
        class ="javax.naming.InitialContext"
        name ="ictx">

<cfscript>
        ictx.addToEnvironment("java.naming.provider.url",
"w2k032.sysadmin.suny.edu:2908");
</cfscript>
<cfset o =ictx.lookup("TitleSessionEJB")>

<cfset myString =javaCast("String",o.getTitle())>
